I've noticed that this group's TF2 servers are some nice vanilla servers in a sea of 32 slot instant respawn 2fort with quake sounds. I'm in the server right now and noticed it has censors. These bother me and ruin an otherwise good server. They serve no purpose and simply bother people. Can these be removed from the server?

it's mainly the worst of the words censored, like "N" words and some of the most serious swear words. We all swear, but people go overboard in the servers. People like them the way they are and I don't see how being able to see myself type "fuck" makes my game any better.

Also, why exactly would censoring the n-word and fuck "bother" people? They serve the purpose of helping keep things respectful, mature, and civil, and you may be the first person to actually mention being bothered by not being able to say fuck or something similar. Why exactly does it bother you?

Considering this guy is currently banned by Mecc for constant specing (despite being told not to) and dissing an admin, and has been nothing but rude and disrespectful in his appeal, I doubt that the welcome you gave him was worth your time, Tuck.

I'd just like to point out that there are plenty of servers in TF2-land that will kick/ban folks simply for swearing. Censoring is a nice way to let folks (re: me) vent their anger without causing a humongous scene if someone gets offended by what is said. Safe to say I've never seen anyone complain about censors being put in place, but considering the source of this complaint, I can't really say that this is a representative opinion.

Just a note, I've seen people complain about the censors. But there's really no good reason to remove them. The main argument is "It's an M rated game. There's SUPPOSED to be swearing in it."

I've heard this, but I have yet to hear the "N" word, "fuck" "C" words. Nor have I heard any character call another a Jew...

In fact, you may notice that the 'meet the spy' video contains the word fuck- but it is censored.

I am extremely against the whole concept of censorship, but really, it’s never bothered me here.

I don’t need to see that I’m swearing, no one else does either. If I type something and it comes out “What the ****,” people know what I’m saying, making the whole censorship meaningless in the first place. It’s not going to stop the fact that I’m frustrated or angry or whatever caused me to swear in the first place, all it’s doing is rearranging the pixels I used to portray a human concept that we as a society have deemed “vulgar.”

I can deal with being able to say it and it coming up as stars.

Censorship does exist in TF2.

I've never had any problem with the censors on hear or many other games for that matter, I hardly ever use the words myself unless I'm with close friends and if its really so hard for people to refrain from using them I think they should try to find out why.
