I second this and stamp it with Ollie's seal of approval.

You misunderstood me, I really like Ska (at least SOME bands). I have a few Reel Big Fish albums somewhere. It's the thought of me singing it that's funny to me. :)

My brother is an excellent drummer. Doesn't do double kicks. Not sure if he'd be able to do it for this though.

Also one of his hands are broken.

Still played a show the other day though.

Hm... lack of a drummer is a pretty big deal, unless wacky/emil/ollie can lay some beats for us? Will it work with a bunch of instruments overlapping and stuff? We pretty much have everything but a drummer...

To get this rolling though, anyone know any good songs that don't have a drummer (or have something beat-box-able) that wouldn't be too hard to get things off the ground?

Sorted. :D

I think I have a pretty good song for us:

It's got plenty of piano, guitar, bass, drums, brass and vocals. The different guitar parts in The End will give a few people a chance to shine and Marsh's bro can have a go at the drum solo. :)

There are so many awesome Beatles songs I don't think we'll all be able to agree on one to do. Unless we do a mash up of a few OR do it DJ Dangermouse style.

ok so i got these new hickory drum sticks after i broke the "indestructible" maple ones which are like very sexy n stuff....

anyway, i've been drummin for about 6-7(? god im losing track) years now, and if I can find a way to position myself behind a set up soon, I would be happy to fill the position...

and if not, I'll play the Electric Cowbell.

I personally would love something like that. Even if it's some kinda mash up we do on our own. But still I'll bust out some Jay z anytime. I love that fool.

Oooo emil that would work pretty nicely. I was listening to my ipod today and "I will survive" by Gloria Gaynor came on... anyone want to try the vocals? :P That's really the only hard part of the song

I'm all for whatever people want to try

Oh my god. I'm actually tempted to try that.

I should practice it and learn the lyrics and see how it goes.

I love that song.

So we need a song that combines brass as well as conventional rock instruments huh.....

Are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Ok I wanted to test out just 2 tracks together, so anyone want to do vocals for Hallelujah (the Rufus Wainwright version)? I also wanted to try out different methods of sound recording for quality, so let me know if you want to do this with me (don't care if you're a good or bad singer :D)

Well I can sing that pretty easily but that's going to rule out every instrument but the piano.

Also I kind of busted up my nose and mouth yesterday so it hurts to live a little bit and it has affected my singing. It will be a little bit before I can get back into the swing of things.

well it was more just an easy project (both parts are pretty easy i think) to see how it would sound with just 2 things mixed together

Ok this kinda died, but I was looking around and realized a pretty big problem: sheet music. Pretty big problem, unless everyone can do everything by ear?

I have Guitar Pro, it's a music tabbing program and it's how I taught myself guitar and bass. We could all work off the same file and attribute tracks to each other.

I could send it out to people who were going to be involved, I'm sure I have the installer somewhere.
