I know I've talked with a few people about this in the past, but would anyone want to create some sort of online orchestra/band? It would be something along the lines of everybody participating individually recording their respective parts (probably with a metronome) and then someone with music editing skills putting it all together to create a (hopefully) masterpiece.

I play the piano, I know that Pigs and Tuck play the skin flute together, PeanutBoy plays a mean ukulele, and I'm sure many of you reading this have musical talent. It would be cool to get this together if anyone is interested.

I can do guttural growls as well. Oh, and I can mix tracks decently.

Hey, the skin flute is a tough instrument to learn. You need to learn the proper hand and finger techniques since its very sensitive.

I can play tuba. Haven't played since I graduated, might be a bit wonky at it now.

So it's pretty evident that we have a wide range of talent... but what to do? There's so many options out there

I can play the trumpet quite handily with 8 years of experience, and I've got access to a wide array of percussion instruments that I'm halfway competent on, ranging from triangles to marimbas to an entire set of authentic Trinidadian hand crafted steel drums.

I will warn you though, multi-tracking can be a bitch. I've dabbled in it myself, mostly just for kicks I did a recording of myself playing Europe's The Final Countdown and multi-tracked the three trumpet parts and the transposed french horn part, but I didn't use a metronome to eliminate background noise.

I'd love to help!

I play guitar (leads, not good with chords), bass, sing, and I have quite a bit of experience working with Audition and putting together multi-track sessions.

That being said, I have shit equipemt for actual recording and very little time to work on my own projects with work and a fight coming up. I would be in for this but there would have to be a pretty lax schedule.

Guitar - Pluto
Vocals/pencil beat - Wacky
Vocals, Piano, Violin - Emil
Bass - Popjay
screams/yells - Foxhack, 5ylver
Triangle - Eri
Skin Flute - Pigs
Tuba - Dafjru
Trumpet/various percussion - Pyroclastic
Guitar/Bass/Vocals - Marsh
Trumpet - Hippie
Piano - Avocado

Ok so all we have for strings is basically Emil on the violin, so it looks like something more brassy, or something along the lines of ska or something? Or a bunch of different songs combining small groups of various people?

Great idea Avo. The only problem is that we'll have to make a song choice. That's a tough decision to make.

For the project, I could play the ukulele, guitalele, bass, glockenspiel, harmonica, pan flute and other things. I could sing baritone opera and I could also core scream. :D

Ska was more a suggestion of something every single member could contribute to, but it's looking more like the better possibility will be a bunch of songs played by a few members rather than every single member.

Song ideas are welcome! Name a song, and a few people can jump on it and record their respective parts or something? Almost any genre, any style? (Hell, Wacky can lay down some pencil beats and Peanut can do opera so that's a pretty wide range)

Any ideas/comments/suggestions are welcome, because this would be pretty cool if it came into fruition

If you need someone to do a crazy voice over, or just sing like Weird Al Yankovic, I'm your guy.

Actually come to think of it I'd really rather do vocals than play my trumpet.

ska really inst a terrible idea it does incorporate guitar, bass, drums, vocals, trumpet, trombone, piano (synth/organ more really) etc in a pretty nice beat

EDIT we could the sweet cover of Take on me (involves more trumpet then the other and its take on me!)
